Court confirms leaked Najib judgment a 'modified' draft

The Palace of Justice has confirmed a leak of the draft judgment in Najib Abdul Razak’s Federal Court appeal on the SRC International case.

In a statement, the court registrar's office referred to the document dated Aug 26 which was posted by controversial blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin on his Malaysia Today blog.

“This office confirms that the draft judgment leaked is the draft which has yet to be finalised.

“The final judgment was delivered in open court at around 4pm…

“It was found that the document has been modified,” said the registrar.

It described the leak as a deliberate act to negatively affect the integrity of court operations and administration of justice.

“An internal probe has been initiated and a police report was lodged,” said the registrar's office.

The office also stressed that the judiciary will not be affected by any irresponsible actions that go against the law with the intention to damage its integrity.

Earlier today, Umno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki expressed shock over the judgment leaked several hours before the official verdict was delivered.
